Seven questions about your periods, symptoms, insurance and GLP-1 use sort the menopause telehealth platforms into the kinds that may fit you: ones that bill insurance, cash platforms with FDA-approved hormone therapy, non-hormonal options, and ones that also prescribe GLP-1s. It is not a diagnosis, it gives no doses, and nothing you enter leaves your browser.

For men: GLP-1s and testosterone.
Seven questions, about two minutes. The last one is about your health history, and it decides whether an online platform is a sensible place to start at all.

Visit Winona ↗Less because the scale jumps and more because the body's make-up shifts. In the SWAN study of 1,246 women, fat gain sped up from 1.0% to 1.7% a year as the transition began, while lean (muscle) mass started to shrink, and a later SWAN analysis found deep belly fat grew about 6% a year during the transition [1][2]. Hormone therapy treats symptoms such as hot flashes; a Cochrane review of 28 trials found it has no effect on body weight [3]. The full evidence, including what is known about hormone therapy with a GLP-1, is on why weight changes in menopause.
Menopause is the point when you have gone 12 months in a row without a period; perimenopause is the years before it, when periods often become irregular [4]. The average age of menopause in the US is around 51 to 52 [4][5]. Hot flashes and night sweats can last for years: in SWAN, the median was 7.4 years in total and 4.5 years after the final period [6]. A clinician can tell you where you are, especially after a hysterectomy or with a hormonal IUD, when periods are no guide.
Because FDA labeling lists each of them as a reason not to use systemic estrogen, the main menopausal hormone therapy [7]. Online platforms work from questionnaires and short visits, so anyone with one of these in their history is better served by a doctor who can examine them and see their records first. That is why a "yes" to any of them replaces every platform suggestion with that advice.
Several menopause platforms prescribe both, so one clinician can look at your symptoms and your weight together; they are listed in the platform comparison. Research on using hormone therapy and a GLP-1 together is limited to observational studies, summarized on the evidence page. Whether a combination suits you is a decision for your clinician.
One short email a week on GLP-1 treatment: what the trials and prescribing labels describe at each stage, and changes in cost and access. General information, not tied to a particular medication or dose. For the trial average for your own medication, use the curve calculator.
