Midi vs Alloy: which menopause platform fits you?

It comes down to one question: do you have insurance you can use? With a commercial PPO plan that Midi is in network with, Midi is usually the better fit: live video visits billed to your plan (about $50 a visit on average, Midi says), FDA-approved hormone therapy, testosterone cream in 25 states and GLP-1s. With no usable insurance, Alloy usually costs less to start: a $49 one-time consult, FDA-approved estradiol from $39.99 a month, and messaging with a doctor instead of video. Neither one bills Medicare or Medicaid. Price checked Oct 25, 2026 · joinmidi.zendesk.com; Oct 25, 2026 · myalloy.com · myalloy.com page 2

Not medical advice. This page compares what two companies say about their own service. Whether hormone therapy, or any medication, is right for you is a decision for a clinician who knows your history.

Which one should I pick?

Pick by insurance first, then by how you want to be seen.

Choose Midi if…

  • Your commercial plan is in network with Midi (most, not all, major PPO plans are, Midi says).
  • You want a live video visit with a clinician rather than a questionnaire.
  • You want testosterone discussed as an option (compounded cream, 25 states).
  • You are on a GLP-1, or considering one, and want one clinician for both.

Choose Alloy if…

  • You have no insurance you can use, or a high deductible.
  • You are fine with an online questionnaire and messaging instead of a video visit.
  • You want posted prices before you start: $49 once, then per prescription. Price checked Oct 25, 2026 · myalloy.com
  • You want FDA-approved products only for menopause: Alloy says it prescribes only FDA-approved medications for menopause symptoms.

Does Alloy take insurance?

No. Alloy's FAQ says it does not accept insurance; you pay $49 for the consult and then the posted price of each prescription. Many people get prescriptions reimbursed through their plan or pay with an HSA or FSA, Alloy says, but that depends on your plan. Price checked Oct 25, 2026 · myalloy.com

Midi is the insurance option of the two: it is in network with most, though not all, major PPO plans, and says most patients pay about $50 out of pocket per visit with insurance. Check your own plan in Midi's booking flow before the first visit. Price checked Oct 25, 2026 · joinmidi.zendesk.com

Does Midi take Medicare?

Not as insurance. Midi's pricing page says Medicare is out of network and Medicare patients are welcome as self-pay ($250 first visit, $150 follow-up). It does not accept Medicaid or Medi-Cal. Alloy takes no insurance of any kind, so on Medicare or Medicaid both are cash services. Price checked Oct 25, 2026 · joinmidi.com

Which one prescribes testosterone?

Midi does, as a compounded testosterone cream in 25 states, from $100 for 90 days; it does not offer pellets. Alloy's own blog says its physicians do not prescribe testosterone because it is a controlled substance. Price checked Oct 25, 2026 · joinmidi.com

Can I get a GLP-1 from Midi or Alloy?

Yes, from both. Midi prescribes brand-name GLP-1s to the pharmacy you choose and sells compounded versions from $164 per 4-week supply. Alloy's weight program adds a $99 monthly fee on top of the medication: brand Zepbound from $299 through LillyDirect, or compounded semaglutide at $70 a month. Compounded GLP-1s have no FDA approval. What the research says about hormone therapy and a GLP-1 together is on the menopause and weight evidence page.
